Notes |
- Graeme Hingston, the first president of the Kitchener Ontario Stake and later counselor in the Toronto Ontario Temple presidency, died early Saturday morning, March 6, and was remembered by Elder Ballard as one of the finest Church leaders in Eastern Canada.
On Saturday afternoon, rather than attend a scheduled temple session, Elder Ballard chose to visit with Brother Hingston's widow, Elsie. James McBride, the current Kitchener stake president, said he was very impressed with how this choice expressed Elder Ballard's typical "love for the one," which had also characterized his missionary service there. Thus, the Ballards' legacy of service and love was extended through joys and sorrows on this bitter-sweet reunion weekend in Ontario.
