- SUDDEN DEATH OF DR. PEARSON
Well-Known Dentist and Citizen of Berlin Attacked by Apoplexy
The citizens of Berlin were shocked on Monday evening when the news spread throughout the town that Dr. H. Fred Pearson had passed away shortly after six o'clock at his home on Young street.
The deceased had been unwell for some time but was able to perform his duties at his dental office until he was stricken with an attack of apoplexy sometime between 4 and 5 o'clock. He was found on the lounge in his office by Mrs. Pearson about five o'clock, having called in to see her husband. He was unconscious and several physicians were summoned who removed him to his home. He never regained conscious.
The deceased was born in the county of York about 55 years ago, and was a son of the late John W. Pearson, formerly governor of the county jail of this town. After securing a public school education he entered the dental profession and has conducted a successful practice here for over 30 years. He was in company with his brother, the late Chas. L. Pearson, who died on March 12th, 1907, for about 25 years.
The deceased was married about 20 years ago to Miss Gibson, daughter of the late James Gibson, who survives him, along with two children, Gibson and Dorothy. He is also survived by one brother, Walter of Newton, Kan., and two sisters, Mrs. (Dr.) O'Reilly, Melrose, Wis., and Mrs. Sutton, of Vancouver, B. C. The late Dr. Pearson, while taking no active part in municipal affairs, was one of Berlin's most prominent and highly esteemed citizens, and al ways took a deep interest the town's welfare. Ile was a charter member of the Berlin Bowling Club and was also connected with other organizations in the Twin-City. He will be greatly missed by wide a circle of friends and the sympathy of the entire community is extended to the bereaved widow and family.
