  In Waterloo, on Thursday, 11th inst., at noon, Nellie Elliott, wife of William Cowan, V.S., aged 44 years and 1 day. Funeral, tomorrow (Saturday) afternoon, June 13th, at half-past 2 o'clock, from her husband's residence, to Galt Cemetery. Galt Reporter Jun 12 1885 pg 1 ________________ Death of Mrs. Wm. Cowan, of Waterloo We very much regret to announce the death of this lady - wife of Mr. Wm. Cowan, V.S. - which occurred at the family residence yesterday (Thursday) after an illness of a little over a week's duration. Mrs. Cowan was the daughter of our old townsman, Mr. James Robson, of the Excise Department, and was widely known, beloved and respected as a most kind hearted Christian woman and mother. Recovering, as Mrs. Cowan did, from a severe and dangerous illness a little over a year ago, it was hoped that she might lone be spared to fill her place in this locality, but it was otherwise ordered. The funeral will take place on Saturday afternoon at half-past two o'clock to Galt Cemetery.
