  	Lancaster Hotel
  	At one time or another there were five hotels in the village. Tom Ferrier owned the old hotel building on the corner of Bridge Street and the Bloomingdale road. The building is presently used as an apartment. The Lancaster House was the first hotel built here in 1840 by a Mr. Bitzer, at the junction of Lancaster and Mill Streets. In 1896 John Grasser purchased it from Habfried Hunderhager. Fred Querin sold it to Jim Walsh in 1950. The Grand Hotel, situated at the head of Lancaster Street, has passed through many owners' hands and is presently owned by George Berges.
