      Ricky Pecht, 17, Dies Instantly When Friend's Rifle Discharges

      INNERKIP-A shooting accident took the life of a 17-year-old Kitchener youth, Hendrik (Ricky) Pecht, 12 Shoemaker Ave., Kitchener, Saturday.

      He died instantly when he was struck in the forehead by a 22 bullet when a rifle, held by a friend, knocked against a doorway and discharged.

      The accident occurred when the. Kitchener, boy and his close friend, David Turkington, 16, decided to do some target shooting.

      Ricky was just getting up from a chesterfield to accompany David outside, when the accident occurred.

      Both boys were alone at the time, in the East Zorra Township farm home, where David lived with his mother, Mrs. Agnes Turkington.

      The Kitchener boy was born Oct. 8, 1945, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Hendrik A. Pecht. He was a member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church and a student at Eastwood Collegiate.

      Surviving, besides his parents, are a sister, Mary Ellen, at home; and his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs Thomas Robinson, Kitchener.

      The body will be at Gruhn Funeral Home until Wednesday at 1 p.m., then at St. Andrew's Church where the funeral will be conducted at 3.30 p.m. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery. Donations to the muscular dystrophy fund will be accepted as expressions of sympathy
