- BOUTILIER, Henry Alerberton (Bert) Wesley - 1924 - 2009. In loving memory of a cherished husband, beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Bert will be forever remembered and missed. Born on January 13, 1924, he passed away at age 85 on March 16, 2009 at Cambridge Memorial Hospital with his wife and family at his side. Before coming to Ontario, Bert was a coal miner in Cape Breton for 23 years. He was a proud member of the Cape Breton Highlanders during the Second World War. Before retiring, Bert was employed by Cambridge Brass (Waltec) for many years. He was a member of the Perth Lions and attended at The Salvation Army wherever he lived. Bert helped many people in his lifetime and continues to do so in death. His wish was to go to university, so his body, at his request, has been donated to McMaster University, where he will be teaching for the next year. Bert was the last surviving member of his family, the late Lewis and Annie Ellen Boutilier and his brothers, Ben, Sam, Fred, John and sister, Annie. Also predeceased by youngest son, Gilbert John (August 25, 2008); son-in-law, Nick Cole (2000); and granddaughter, Cathy (1979). Bert is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Audrey (Staines); his sons, Fred (Mary Lou), Hughie (Elizabeth); daughters, Myrtle Cole, Debbie Treige (Gary) and Thea. Also Audrey's family, Malcom (Mary), Mike, Shirley, Stephen, Graham (Michelle) and Theresa (Joe); his 24 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and Jeanette McClellan. There will be a memorial service and reception at The Salvation Army, Cambridge (Galt), 16 Shade St. on Thursday, March 26, 2009 at 2 p.m. Major S. Rideout officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Salvation Army (Galt) would be greatly appreciated. Special thanks to Medical Day Care, 5th floor Oncology, doctors, staff and volunteers at CMH, Pat Bolender (Paramed), Carla Zuber (Red Cross), Langs Farm Pharmacy and the unsung heroes at the Blood Donor Clinics. Between now and then, 'Til we meet again I'll be loving you Love me.
