- July 12. Frank H. Russ, 69, came from London, England, with his parents to settle in Hespeler in 1905. In 1957 he retired after 50 years of service with the Grand River Railway. In May, 1960, Hespeler held "Frank Russ Night" to honour this citizen who had served his community through service to the United Church, Chamber of Commerce, Masons, Senior Citizens and musical activities. He was a past-president of the Preston-Hespeler Rotarv Club and had been a Hespeler Alderman for five years.
