    • Schedewitz, Howard W.G. - At Heritage House, St. Jacobs, on Thursday, Nov. 14, 1991, Howard William G. Schedewitz, formerly of 100 Queen St. N., Kitchener, age 87 years. Howard was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and had been president of the Kitchener Theatres Ltd., having been involved with movie theatres for 47 years beginning in 1925 and retiring in 1972. He was a charter member of the Waterloo Lions, a life member of the Retired Business and Professional Men's Club and the Canadian Picture pioneers. Husband of the former Florence McKee-Shackleton; father of Mrs. Joan Blackie of Toronto, brother of Mrs. Gertrude Weichel of Elmira and Rita and her husband Carl Dune of Kitchener; four grandchildren, Susan Legris of Toronto, Barbara and her husband Joseph Streker of Binbrook. Robert Blackie of Burlington and Mark O'Leavey of Kitchener; one great-granddaughter, Brianne Streker; two step-children, Kevin Shackleton and Margaret Shackleton of Kitchener. Predeceased by his parents, Simon Schedewitz and Sophie Stumpf; his first wife Gertrude Merklinger; a daughter, Jean O'Leavey and one brother, Clayton. The family will receive friends from noon until 2 pm, on Saturday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Queen Street, Kitchener, where the funeral service will be held at 2 pm, with Pastor Allan Scharlech officiating. Interment will be in Woodland Cemetery.

      FORMER ELMIRA MAN APPOINTED HEAD OF KITCHENER THEATRE

      Manager of the Waterloo Theatre since it was opened two years ago, Howard Schedewitz has been appointed manager of the Lyric Theatre in Kitchener.

      Before coming to Waterloo, Mr. Schedewitz had been manager of a Windsor theatre for four and one-half years. Previously he had established and operated theatres in Elmira, Milverton and New Hamburg. He operated the Elmira show for nine years.

      Gordon Ringle, formerly of the Lyric staff, who has been at Waterloo for the past two years, returns to the Lyric as assistant manager.
      Frank Wedgwood, who has operated theatres in Milverton and Strathroy, will take over the duties at the Waterloo Theatre, ....
