- Obituary of Irene Dietrich
Passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at the age of 82 years.
Survived by her beloved husband Robert "Bob" Dietrich of 60 years, her children, R. Brian Dietrich, Philip (Jane) Dietrich, Greg (Alice) Dietrich and Sheila Dietrich as well as her cherished grandchildren Scott, Amy, Julia, Kyle, and Leah. Irene is also survived by her sister Ellen Smith and was predeceased by her parents Walter & Katharine Kaden, sisters Kaye (Bob) Saville, Ruth (Elmer) Gaiser, brother-in-law Win Smith and a brother in infancy.
Irene was proud of her involvement volunteering and coordinating the City of Waterloo Meals on Wheels program for over 25 years and she enjoyed her fellowship with friends in the Lutheran Adult Fellowship (LAF) of Christ Lutheran Church. She was especially proud of her grandchildren. Irene also had a love for the neighbourhood dogs (and their walkers) who will miss her "cookie treats".
Friends are invited to share their memories of Irene with her family during memorial visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Sunday, May 25 from 2-5 p.m. A memorial service will be held in the chapel of the funeral home on Monday, May 26 at 11:00 am. Cremation will have taken place and a reception will follow in the Fireside Reception room of the funeral home.
The family wishes to thank Pastor James Brown, Dr. Borys, the ICU staff at Grand River Hospital, Mary Ann Lorentz and the CCAC Home Care Team for their support and excellent care.
In lieu of flowers, condolences for the family and donations to Christ Lutheran Church or the Grand River Hospital Foundation may be arranged through the funeral home at www.erbgood.com or 519-745-8445.
