      On Tuesday, December 19th, 2017 Irma Lenore Struthers passed away peacefully at the age of 93. She is reunited with her beloved husband, Ross Struthers (d. 2003), in heaven. There, she also joins her siblings Robert, Jack, William and Raymond, granddaughter Leyla and her daughter-in-law Phyllis. Irma will be dearly missed by her sons Rae (Susan), Steve, Dan (Marilyn), Neil (Marie), and Keith (Lynn), grandchildren Sandy (Bob), Matthew (Julia), Geoff (Christy), Ashley (Monica), Blaze, Madelyn, Cameron (Amber), and Maclean (Kathryn), and nine great-grandchildren. She will be fondly remembered by members of both the Chowen and Struthers families.

      Visitation to be held Saturday December 23rd from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Barthel Funeral Home (566 Queenston Road, Cambridge). A private family service will be held following the visitation, with a public Celebration of Life announced at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the March of Dimes (Post-Polio), St. Andrew's Terrace, or the Fairview Mennonite Home.

      Irma L. Chown Becomes Bride Of R. E. Struthers

      PRESTON Dec. 14. - Kingston Road United Church, Toronto, was the setting for a pretty wedding Saturday, Dec. 5, at four o'clock. when Irma Lenore, only daughter of Mrs. E. M. Chown, Ottawa, and the late Mr. Wilbur F. Chown, became, the bride of Mr. Ross Edward Struthers, of the R.C.A.F.. eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. William Struthers, Fountain Street, Rev. J. Elwood of Mitchell, officiated.

      The bride, given in marriage by her brother, William R. Chown of the R.C.A.F., wore a gown of white crepe and finger-tip veil caught in a halo by a gold head band. She car-ried a colonial bouquet of white chrysanthemums and red roses.

      Mrs. W. R. Chown, sister-in-law of the bride, as matron of honor, wore dusky blue chiffon with matching veil. The bridesmaid, Miss Thelma Harper, wore turquoise net and both carried colonial bouquets of pink roses.

      Little Miss Ruthie Struthers, sister of the bridegroom, as flower girl. was frocked in pink taffeta and carried a nosegay of pink roses and carnations.

      The duties of best man were carried out by Mr. Stanley Struthers, brother of the bridegroom, and those of ushers by Pte. Jack Chown and Pte. Ross Harlock.

      Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the home of the bride's uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. I. B. McLauchlan, 991 Kingston Road. The bride's mother and bridegroom's mother were in the receiving line with the young couple.

      Mrs. Struthers wore brown crepe with a corsage of yellow roses and Mrs. Chown, soldier blue with red roses.

      Due to illness, Sapper Robert Struthers of the R.C.E. was unable to be present at his brother's wedding. Sapper Struthers was confined to the Petawawa Military Hospital.
