James Arren Henderson Dies of Terrible Burns
Word was received here during the weekend of the tragic death in Ottawa Hospital on Saturday night of James Arren Henderson, a native of Ayr, in his 28th year. His death was due to the effects of being severely scalded when a locomotive crane upset at the Chats Falls Power Development, where he was employed, and deluged him with scalding steam. He was immediately rushed to the Ottawa Hospital, where he was given every attention, but to no avail. His brother, John Henderson, Jedburgh, and party had left on a motor vacation trip Saturday morning, and the telegram telling of the mishap reached him at Orono. He left at once for Ottawa to render every assistance possible. Deceased was born in Ayr and had lived here most or his life. He left for other fields of employment eight or ten years ago and, for the past several months, had been working at Chats Falls. He was quite popular among the young people of the village, who will be sorry to learn of his untimely demise. He was unmarried, and is survived by the following: Mrs. J. R. Wood, Preston; Mrs. Earl Wilfong, Montreal, and John Henderson, Ayr. The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon to the Ayr Cemetery.
