Notes |
- Mrs. Charles Holdaway - The death occurred suddenly on Monday night at 11 o'clock of Ellen Emily Hawes, beloved wife of Charles Holdaway, Stanley Street, from the effects of a heart attack. Deceased, who was in her 46th year, had been ill for some considerable length of time, but no immediate serious outcome was anticipated. She was born at Haysville, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hawes. The family later removed to the farm now occupied by Norman Morton, subsequently coming to Ayr about 25 Years ago. Deceased was a member of the former Methodist Church, and was highly esteemed by many friends. Besides her husband, she is survived by one son and three daughters, viz.: Edward of Galt, Mrs. Thomas Holmes, Adelean and Florence of Ayr. The following brothers and sisters also survive: Ellery, Kitchener; William, Paris; Robert, Mrs. John Love and Mrs. Wm. J. Turnbull, Ayr; Mrs. Victor Merrier, Kitchener, and Mrs. Hayes, Oak River, Manitoba. The funeral will take place to the Ayr Cemetery on Thursday afternoon, Dec. 24th.
