  A lifelong resident of Ayr and district, Mrs. James G. Fair, Piper Street, Ayr, passed away at her home on Thursday, August 9th. The former Jamesena Gordon McRuer, she was a daughter of the late James McRuer and Jean Kyle, and was born on the Kyle farm, 7th concession of Blenheim. Except for her very early years, all her life was spent in Ayr. In 1920 she married James Gladstone Fair who predeceased her in 1948. Mr. Fair operated a jewelery business in Ayr for 56 years. Mrs. Fair was in the office of the John Watson Manufacturing Co., Ayr, prior to her marriage and again for several years following Mr. Fair's death. She was a member of Knox United Church, Ayr. Survived by a daughter Mrs. C.S. (Jane) Dunning of Toronto; a brother Austin Nunan and a sister Mrs. R.M. (Nora Nunan) Creeden of Paris. Predeceased by two brothers John and Bernard Nunan. Funeral service was conducted Saturday by Rev. A. Embree of Paris from the Wm. Kipp Funeral Home, Paris. Interment in Ayr Cemetery. Pallbearers were John Creeden, John Nunan, Robert Kyle, John Watson, Murray Smith and Robert McRuer. The Ayr News Aug 16 1973 pg 10
