  CHECKLEY - At Barrie, on the 19th Jan., Jane Terry, aged 26 years and 89 months, wife of F. Y. Checkley, elder daughter of Adam Cranston, Galt. The Dumfries Reformer Jan 23 1890 ________________________ DEATH OF MRS. F. V. CHECKLEY A telegram was received by the family of Mr. Adam Cranston, on Sunday last, that his daughter, Mrs. F. Y. Checkley, had died that morning, at her house in Barrie. The deceased lady had been a great suffer for the past two or three years and some time ago all hope of her recovery was abandoned. Married a few years since, to Mr. F. Y. Checkley, of the Bank of Commerce, Dundas and more recently accountant in the Barrie branch, she had every prospect of a long and happy married life. Ill health overtook her, however and for some time past she was a helpless invalid. Her death at the early age of 26 years and 8 months, is particularly sad. She leaves two young children, aged three and a half years and sixteen months respectively and her husband and relatives have the heart felt sympathy of our townspeople generally in their sad bereavement. The remains were conveyed to Galt on Monday afternoons, the funeral taking place on Tuesday, from her father's residence, West Main street, to Trinity church cemetery.
