    • Mrs. William D. Sheldon, 120 Cedar St., died Tuesday at South Waterloo Hospital, Galt. She was 56.

      Mrs. Sheldon was the former Jean Cowan Whyte and was born in Glasgow, Scotland. She has resided in Galt since 1935, coming from Vancouver. She was a member of Knox Presbytarian Church, past president of the Women's Auxiliary, past president of the Galt Home and School Association, and was member of the University Women's Club. She was also a member of the Alpha Omicron Phi Fraternity, member of the University of British Columbia women's world champion basketball team in 1930. She graduated from U.B.C. in 1931.

      Besides her husband, she is survived by three sons, J. William of Montreal, D. James and David, both of Galt; one daughter, Mrs. J. R. N. (Catherine) Lazier of Halifax and Juliet of Toronto; her mother, Mrs. Catherine Whyte and one brother, Douglas Whyte, both of Vancouver, and one grandchild.

      The body is at Little's Funeral Home where a service will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m.

      Interment will be in Mount View Cemetery, Galt. Donations to the heart fund will be accepted as expressions of sympathy.
