      With sadness we announce that Jean passed away at Toronto General Hospital on Sunday, July 31, 2016 of complications from multiple sclerosis. Jean was predeceased by her parents Allen and Ethel Verch. She will be greatly missed by her family, sister Mary Justason (William, deceased) and brother Robert Verch (Nena). Nieces and nephews, Kathryn Martiuk (Roman), Karen Robinson (Doug), Donna Berry (Roger), Heather Justason, Tammy Verch, Jeff Verch, Jason Somerville (Brandy). Great-nieces and nephews will remember her humour and the special times she spent with them. Greatly missed by lifelong cherished friend, Victoria Richards, her son Robin Richards (Jennifer) and their children

      Jean devoted 50 years to the National Ballet Canada Orchestra and although recently retired from the company she will be fondly remembered and her significant contributions will not be forgotten by her Ballet family.

      A Celebration of Jean's remarkable life will be held at the Rosar-Morrison Funeral Home, 467 Sherbourne St., Toronto, on Sunday, August 21st. Visitation at 1 p.m. and Memorial Service at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the National Ballet of Canada, MS Society or the charity of your choice.

Prior to her career with the Ballet Jean was a flutist for the Waterloo Band, Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony, and the National Youth Orchestra.
