  LORENTZ, Jerome (Scotty) It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Jerome (Scotty) Lorentz on Thursday, December 30, 2010 in his 97th year. Scotty was the beloved husband of Mary (nee Drexler) for 68 years. Much loved father of his five boys, Ron, Bob, Rick, Brian and his wife Debbie, and Jerry and his wife Joan. Adored grandpa to 13 grandchildren, and 13 great- grandchildren. Also remembered by his brother Oscar (Rose), his sister Ann Koebel, and the extended Drexler family. Predeceased by his infant daughter Judy Marie in 1950, daughters-in-law Joan and Marg, his parents, Jacob Lorentz and Mary Boegel, his brothers John, Tony, Clarence, Albert, Edward, sisters, Leona Voisin, Emily Hergott, Bernie Haffner, and Celeste Forwell. Scotty was a lifetime member of Maryhill Knights of Columbus. He owned and operated the Maryhill Feed Mill for 50 years. In those years, he was known to enjoy a glass or two of cider with many of the Maryhill Farmers. Family and friends all have a special story to tell about Scotty. The Lorentz family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday from 1-5 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Parish prayers 6 p.m. Sunday evening. Prayers will be offered from the funeral home at 9: 15 a.m. on Monday, January 3, 2011 followed by procession to St. Boniface R.C. Church, Maryhill for Jerome's Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Fr. Ronald Voisin officiating. Interment Maryhill Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Jackson and Carter Stoneman Therapy Fund would be appreciated by the family. A special thank you to Twin Oaks of Maryhill for the excellent care given to Scotty. While his stay was short, we truly appreciate all that you did for him.
