Notes |
- ARMSTRONG, Jillian (Jill) Katherine Passed away peacefully in her sleep surrounded by loved ones, in Kitchener, on November 14, 2013 at the age of 43. Jill graduated from St. George's High School in Montreal and then the Claude Watson Arts Program at Earl Haig Secondary School in Toronto. She held a Bachelor's degree in Theatre Design (York University) and a Master's Degree in Canadian Studies with a specialty in Heritage Conservation (Carleton University). Jill pursued many passions, and her work included theatrical set and costume design, stage management, project management, heritage conservation and museum curation. She was active in her community, she was an avid world traveller and foodie, and she loved to dance and spend time at the family cottage in northern Ontario. Her creativity, intellect, boundless curiosity and love of reading made her a consummate learner, able to engage with people on almost any topic. Jill was constantly using her many skills to help the people around her, even helping plan a friend's wedding from her hospital bed. Jill is survived by her husband Marc Plumb, parents Pat and Hugh Armstrong, sister Sarah Armstrong, as well as four aunts and their spouses, eight cousins and their spouses and children, in-laws Helga, Colin, Mark and Lindsay and their families, and many close friends, including Sherri and Christopher. A memorial service to celebrate Jill's life will be held at a later date. For details on the service please email: jillsmemorial@gmail.com Donations in Jill's memory can be made to Ovarian Cancer Canada, the Architectural Conservancy of Ontario, or the Cancer Centre at Grand River Hospital in Kitchener. Jill and family wish to thank the staff of Outpatient Oncology, Surgery 5S, and Oncology 6A/B at Grand River Hospital.
