  DEATH OF MRS. J. U. STIEHELMEVER OF ROCHESTER, N. Y. On early Friday morning of last week, the news reached the city ofthe death of Mrs. Johannah Stiefelmeyer, of Rochester, N. Y., widow of Dr. J. U. Stiefelmeyer, and mother of C. A. Stietelmeyer of this city. Mrs. Stiefelmeyer, with her husband and children once made her home in Cullman, coming here for the health of Dr. Stiefelmeyer. For some years Mrs. Stiefelmeyer has been living at her old home in Rochester, N. Y., where she has two married daughters, and near her another son, the father of our George Stiefelmeyer, well known here. She has also a daughter in Hanceville, Ala., Mrs. C. Burkhart. Mrs. Stiefelmeyer has been in ill-health for some time. Her son C. A. Stiefelmeyer, of Cullman, and his wife were at the bedside. The end came peacefully and the tired hand were folded in the last sleep. Mrs. Stiefelmeyer was member of the Luthern Church, and was about 84 years old. The burial took place on Monday. Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Stiefelmeyer will return to Cullman early in September. The family have the profound sympathy of many friends here.
