  RITCHIE, John MacKinnon - Peacefully, on Thursday, March 9, 2006, at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener, in his 81st year. John was the beloved husband of Jane Smith, with whom he shared 53 years of marriage. He was the loving father of Duncan and his wife Irma of Kitchener, Stewart of Elmira, Heather and her husband Bob Clement of Elora and Kevin of Waterloo. John was the special "Grampa" of Klayton, Kimberley, Erin, Emily and Rebecca and will be sadly missed by his brother, James and his wife Lorraine; sister, Mary Bent and brother-in-law, Bill Kerr. He was predeceased by his parents, Catherine (MacKinnon) and Archibald Ritchie; sister, Cathe Kerr; brother-in-law, Doug Bent and grandson, George. John was a long time employee of Carling and Labatt Breweries in Waterloo, a Second World War Naval veteran and a Life Member of the K-W Masonic Temple. In keeping with John's requests, cremation has taken place and there will be no funeral or memorial services. Remembrances to a charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.
