- John Michelson Esbaugh was born October 23, 1855, in Cleminens, Waterloo county, Canada; married Mary Ann Gibson August 6, 1880. To this union were born five sons and one daughter. The wife, daughter and three sons live to mourn their loss. Many say "that no man will be more missed in business circles than he." He was highly respected and honored by fraternal societies. He was converted and joined the Methodist Episcopal church January 20, 1904. His church life was full of fidelity to Christianity. He died in the faith of the gospel at Grenola, January 8, 1908. His funeral was held at his home January 11. 1908 at 11 o'clock.

John Esbaugh, Blacksmith, Mr. Esbaugh is a native of Canada, come to Kansas in 1869 and to Grencla in 80. He is assisted by Clemenet Click, a young man who learned his trade under him, any work in his line is always done in a workmanlike manner and at living prices Johnny is an indespensible fixture with us.
