  • Notes
    • The many friends of Mr. and Mrs. John Bricker, near Elmira, will be grieved to hear that their only son, Jonathan Roy, a child of about four years of age, died last Thursday night. The little lad had been suffering from an abscess on the throat and had been treated by a doctor who lanced the abscess from the outside and left the patient apparently recovering rapidly. During the night, however, the parents were aroused by a struggle the child made for breath. He was apparently choking. Mr. Bricker hastened for the doctor, but before the latter arrived life had flown. It is thought that the abscess burst internally and filled the windpipe so that suffocation ensued. The sudden demise was the more shocking since it was thought all danger was over.
