- GUISSO, Joseph (Joe) - Peacefully with his family by his side, at Cambridge Memorial Hospital, on Friday September 15, 2006, in his 95th year. Beloved husband of Phyllis for 66 years. Loving father of Lazarus, Richard, JoAnn, John (Diane) and Greg (Kelly) and their families. Predeceased by son Michael (1971). Grandpa will be fondly remembered by his nine grandchildren Michael, Tomoko, Isaac, Rhys, Melany, Jody, Katee, Brittany and Nicole and his great grandson Kaito. Also survived by his brother Fred Guisso and his family and his brother in-law George Schaller. Joe will be missed by his special friends Lynda Stewart, Bernie Cocchiola, Yvonne Hynes and his canine companion Pepper. Predeceased by brothers Carl, George and sisters Dorothy and Carlotta. A lifelong resident of Galt, and member of St. Patrick's parish, Joe was active in many community organizations. Joe was instrumental in establishing Little League baseball in Galt, served as a Board Member of Cambridge Memorial Hospital and active in many roles in the labour movement. For his contributions, Joe was awarded a Centennial Medal and was the last Citizen of the year of the city of Galt in 1973. In his retirement, Joe was an avid gardener and loyal Blue Jays fan. Memorial visiting will be held at Little's Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 223 Main St. , E. , Cambridge on Sunday from 2-4 and Monday from 7-9 p. m. A memorial mass will be celebrated at St. Clements RC Church, Cambridge on Tuesday September 19, 2006 at 10 a. m.
