- I have attached the photo of Asa Wolverton. He was born in PA, July 4, 1803; came to Paris, ON with his family from Cayuga NY in 1823. He was a lumber merchant and a very, very wealthy man; in business with his younger brother Enos. Asa died in 1861. Juliet and Asa married in 1842 (still researching for more information) did not have children but I have researched that Juliet had a brother Wm who named his son Joseph Wolverton Capron. Her brother John named his son Joseph Wolverton Capron.
We are currently doing a complete historic restoration of Juliet and Asa's home which was built on the edge of the Grand River in Upper Village of Paris in 1851. It was a one bedroom house with a ballroom. We know that they took in the freed black slaves as well as the Irish families as servants....
