Corrugating Co. Owner-Manager L. W. Koser Dies
Owner and manager of Canadian Corrugating and Stamping limited, Leon Walter Koser, 68, of 77 Home street, died Monday in Grace hospital.
Born in Shipenburg, Pa., he later moved to Canton. O. where he spent his early years. In 1902 he came to Canada, settling at Preston, Ont., where he became employed as a draftsman with the Metal Shingle and Siding company.
Company Organized
In 1904 Mr. Koser organized the Galt Art Metal company at Galt, Ont., and five years later married Miss Florence Ziegler of Elmira, Ont. He moved to Toronto in 1912. joining the staff of the Metallic Roofing company as sales manager, and later was transferred to Winnipeg as western sales manager.
In 1915 Mr. Kosher became associated with the Crossen Metal company at St. Boniface, and five. years later went into business for himself in that city.
He was a member of the St. Boniface Kiwanis club, the Assiniboine Lawn Bowling club, the Elmhurst Golf club and the Winnipeg Winter club.
Astronomy Lecturer
Mr. Kosher was a past president of the Natural History association, and at the time of his death. was serving as president of the Astronomical society. Mr. Koser lectured on astronomy for these two groups.
Besides his widow he is survived by a daughter Mrs. Albert Ford of Winnipeg: two grandchildren; three sisters Mrs. Ruth Danner and Mrs. M. Erban of Canton, O., and Mrs. Eva Zimmerman of Elgin, Ill., and ane brother Norman of Yakima, Wash. A son Milton died in 1931.
Rev. Arthur Midland and Canon F. Goodeve will officiate at the funeral service, which will be held at 3.30 p.m. Thursday the Thomson funeral chapels. Burial will be made in the family plot in Elmwood cemetery. Pallbearers will be V. Cunliffe. Dr. V. Onhauser. William Bickell. Bryce Wightman, John Popp and Don McKay.
