- LORENTZ, Leonard Sr. - On Wednesday, Nov. 16, 1994, at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener. Len Lorentz. of New Hamburg.
He was born in Waterloo 68 years ago, a son of the late Norman Lorentz and the former Wilhelmina Anstedt. A hand cooper by trade, having worked at Seagram, Canada Barrel and Keg he was employed at Stanley Works, New Hamburg prior to his retirement. After retirement, he enjoyed working at Lorentz Woodworking in Stratford. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 532, New Hamburg. He enjoyed woodworking and sports as his hobbies. He is best remembered as a trainer of Ideal junior and senior hockey clubs.
Beloved husband of Shirley (nee Forler). Loving father of Bill and his wife Caroline of Stratford, Greg of Brampton, Lennie and his friend Anne of Waterloo, Karen of Waterloo, Mike and his wife Gina of Baden, Gerry and his friend Peg of Toronto, Tom and his friend Theresa of Dundas and Joanne at home. Sadly missed by eight grandchildren. Also remembered by a brother, Eddie and his wife Doris of Wingham and a sister, Thelma Woman of Toronto and a number of nieces and nephews. Lovingly remembered as a special member of the Forler family. Lennie was predeceased by a daughter, Cheryl and a son Christopher; a brother, Charlie and three sisters, Lucy, Hilda and Flo.
Family and friends may call at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron St., New Hamburg, after 7 p.m. tonight (Friday), again Saturday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and until 1 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 20, 1994 when transfer will be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, New Hamburg for the service at 3 p.m. with Pastor Andre Lavergne officiating. Interment to follow in Riverside Cemetery.
