- GORDIER, LEONARD
At his home, 24 George St. N. in Galt, suddenly, at 8: 30 on Tuesday evening, August 27, 1946, as a result of a heart attack, age 44 (or 45 -varying reports) years. Born in Puslinch Township, he had resided at Glen Christie, before going to Galt ten years ago, where he operated a Supertest service station at the corner of Queen and Water Sts. He was a member of the United Church (or Knox Presbyterian Church - varying
reports) in Galt. Son of Eli Gordier of Dundas and the late Mrs. Gordier. Survived by his wife, Maude Grieve; one daughter, Joyce, at home; three sisters, Mrs. William Meyers of Hamilton; Mrs. Hugh Frew of Preston; Mrs. Jack Brethauer of Hespeler; seven brothers, Harry of Port Huron; Fred and Louis of Detroit; Russell of Guelph; Gordon of Dundas; Milton of Preston (or Galt - varying reports); and Roy of Galt. Service at the Harold Gray Funeral Home on Fri. at 2: 30 conducted by Rev. E. J. Walker of Knox Presbyterian Church in Galt. There was a very large attendance. Pallbearers were six brothers: Perry, Fred, Russell, Louis, Milton and Roy. Flowerbearers: Robert Tease; Ross and Gordon Watson; Norman Cook; Milton Flick; and Grant Watson. Interment was in Hespeler Cemetery.
