    • HALLMAN, Leroy Murray August 11, 1928 - March 9, 2014 Beloved husband of Ruth Hallman (nee Weltz), passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener on Sunday, March 9, 2014, at the age of 85 years. Cherished Dad of Carolee (Dana) Fox of Waterloo, Loree (Tom) Abbott of Waterloo and Jayne (Tim) McCullough of London. Loving Papa of Erin, Jordan, Kelsey, Taylor, Christopher, Maggie and Ally. Brother of Morley (late Helen) Hallman of Kitchener and Kenneth (Nancy) Fry of Heidelberg. Brother-in-law to Eileen (late Robert) Bowman of Kitchener. Will also be missed by many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Leroy is predeceased by his parents Simon and Beulah (nee Bilton) and sister Jean. Lee worked for seven years at Mutual Life of Canada after completing high school. He then went back to school attending University to become a teacher. Lee taught with the Waterloo Regional District School Board first at Waterloo Oxford Secondary School and later Eastwood Secondary School. On weekends and in the summer, Lee also lectured at Wilfrid Laurier University. Lee was a very active and lifelong member of Calvary Memorial Church, Past Chairman of the Red Cross Blood Donor Clinic, and was a Scout Leader with Darcy Spencer for many years. Leroy loved to spend time in Southampton with his family, playing competitive tennis, loved fishing, canoeing and tripping. Friends are invited to share their memories of Leroy with his family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home , 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Wednesday March 12, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The memorial service will be held at Calvary Memorial United Church, 91 Gruhn St., Kitchener, on Thursday, March 13, 2014 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Lynne Bandy officiating. Reception to follow in Kellerman Hall of the church. Burial will have taken place prior to the service at Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo. Condolences for the family and donations to Calvary Memorial United Church or the St. Mary's Cardiac Care Centre may be arranged through the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo at www.erbgood.com or 519-745-8445.
