She was born in South Easthope township 85 years ago, a daughter of the late John B. and Lydia (Bender) Schwartzentruber. She was a member of Hillcrest Mennonite Church, New Hamburg where she was a member of the WMSC. Mae and her late husband Pastor Henry were involved in prison ministry and together enjoyed compiling genealogy information. She also enjoyed reading, writing and quilting as her hobbies.
Beloved wife of the late Pastor Henry L. Yantzi, who predeceased her July 12, 1995. Loving mother of Eunice of Toronto, Elva and her husband John Jutzi of Stratford, Paul Yantzi and his wife Alice of RR 1, Shakespeare, Mark Yantzi and his wife Glennis of Kitchener, Lois and her husband Leigh Steckley of New Hamburg. Also missed by foster sons, Brian Smithers of Kitchener, Rick Yantzi of Hanover. Ever remembered and cherished by 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Dear sister-in-law of Mattie Schwartzentruber and Doris Schwartzentruber, both of New Hamburg and William Schumm of Tavistock.
Predeceased by a daughter, Beulah; a son, Wilbur and two brothers, Serenus and Corson.
Friends and relatives may call at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron St., New Hamburg today (Friday) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Burial will be at the 16th line East Zorra Mennonite Cemetery at 2:15 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 30, 1997 followed by a memorial service at Hillcrest Mennonite Church, New Hamburg at 3 p.m., with Pastor Maurice Martin and Chaplain Gerald Schwartzentruber officiating.
