  HAMMER, Lotus Passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at Rockwood Terrace in Durham. Lotus was formerly of New Hamburg and was born there 92 years ago. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Pansy (Watts) Forster. Beloved wife of the late Maurice Hammer who predeceased her November 26, 2000. Loving mother of Kathy Brenner of Durham. Sadly missed by her grandchildren Rachelle and husband Trent Swayze and John Brenner and her great-grandsons Tim and Calvin Swayze. Remembered by The Hammer Family and a number of nieces and nephews. Lotus was predeceased by her son-in-law John Brenner, brother Clint and wife Betty Forster, sisters Helen and husband Ed Martin, Ruth and husband Victor Pearson, Eleanor and husband Jack Fitzgerald. Lotus was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, New Hamburg. A private family interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery, New Hamburg. A celebration of Lotus's life will take place at a later time. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, New Hamburg or the charity of one's choice.
