- BAUER, Louise Fredericka Maria (Nee Lenz)
Louise Bauer passed away peacefully on January 14th at the Aberhart Auxiliary Hospital, Edmonton at the age of 88 years.
Born in Falkenwalde, Germany and raised near Stettine and Bremen, Louise Lenz came with her family to Canada in 1914 to settle in Wellington County, Ontario. Later she married William F. Bauer of Kitchener-Waterloo. Their only son, Milton was eventually to become a professor of economics at the University of Alberta.
Louise Bauer moved to Alberta in 1978. She was predeceased by her husband, William in 1972 and by her son, Dr. Milton Bauer in 1980. She is survived, in Edmonton, by her grandson, William N. Bauer and by her daughter-in-law, Murina Bauer.
In Kitchener-Waterloo, she is survived by two sisters and a brother, Anna Clausing, Charlotte Hohl and William Lenz and by her nieces and nephews. Within her original family, Louise was predeceased by three brothers and two sisters, respectively, Paul, Henry, Eric, Erna and Frieda. Funeral service will take place on Thursday, January 19th at 1:00 p.m. at the Hainstock and Son Funeral Chapel with Pastor Jon Temme officiating. Interment to follow in the Edmonton Cemetery.
