At St. Mary's General Hospital, on Saturday, July 29, 1989, following a lengthy illness, Louise Dietrich, of Beechwood Manor, 305 Erb St. W., Waterloo. Born in Linwood in 1911, daughter of the late Frank and Caroline Schummer. Wife of the late Theodore Dietrich Sr., of St. Agatha, who predeceased her in October 1981. She is survived by her son, Theodore Dietrich Jr. and his wife Mary Ann of Waterloo; her daughter, Mary Pat and her husband Peter Dietrich of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Also survived by five grandchildren, Kevin and Charlene Dietrich, Caroline and her husband Ray Downing, Mary Frances and Craig Dietrich and one great-grandson, Matthew; two brothers, Harry and his wife Verna, George and his wife Irene of Florida; five sisters, Gertrude Wilson of Florida, Ruth Massel, Betty McCallum and her husband Larry of Kitchener, Ann Lynch of Toronto and Helen and her husband William Farlow of Peterborough also several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by two brothers and two sisters, Oscar and Frank Schummer Jr., Beatrice Powell and Mary Hayes. Mrs. Dietrich was a graduate nurse of St. Mary's General Hospital and nursed in this area for many years. Also was a nursing sister during the Second World War and nursed overseas for four years with the 10th Canadian General Hospital. She was a member of the Cannel Guild of St. Agatha, St. Louis RC. Church, the Catholic Women's League and St. Mary's Nurses Alumni. The family received Mends at the Schreiter-Sandrock Funeral Home and Chapel, 51 Benton at Church St. Parish Christian Wake service was held Monday at 8 p.m. Prayers will be offered from the funeral home chapel today (Tuesday), Aug. 1, 1989, at 10.30 a.m., followed by Mass of Christian Burial at St. Louis RC Church at 11 a.m. Interment St. Agatha RC cemetery.
