For a life well lived, we announce the passing of Marieta Doris Luelo on Jan. 11, 2019 at the age of 98. She was born the daughter of Edward and Mabel Hagedorn. Marieta was predeceased by her husband, Roy (1973), her longtime good friend Jim Walker Sr. (2009), sisters Mary Schlote (William), Leola Lasby (Marshall) and brother, Orville Hagedorn (Patricia). She is survived by her three children, Dianne Kneller, Merilyn Flowers (John White) and Brad Luelo (Ellen). Also surviving her is her brother, James Hagedorn (Margaret). Marieta is also fondly and lovingly remembered by her grandchildren and great grandchildren, Erin Taylor (Andy), Chloe and Ben, Tara Pedersen (Mark), Marley and Myles and Tory Lawrenson (Steve) and Karsen. For many years, Marieta was a nursery school teacher at Emmanuel Day Care and spent much of her spare time giving private piano lessons and volunteering at Grand River Hospital.
