- KAPLIN, Mrs. Clayton (Marjory) (Peggy) - Suddenly, at University Hospital, London, Ont., on Monday, Nov. 8, 1982, Marjory (Peggy) Richards, age 62 years, of 9 Brant Cres., Kitchener. Mrs. Kaplin was past president of the Legion Ladies' Auxiliary service, branch 50, Kitchener, having joined in 1951 and was executive member of many years, president from 1978 to 1980, Sergeant at Arms, second vice president twice and first vice president, a term she held until June, 1982. She was a member of the Poppy Committee, a color bearer and very active in many activities of branch 50. Beloved wife of Clayton Kaplin; dear mother of Charles and Roger of Sarnia, Linda of Kitchener, Karen of Burlington; sister of Larry of Kitchener, Alfred (Shorty) of New Hamburg, Mrs. Betty Harrison and Shirley (Mrs. Art Giesler), both of Waterloo and Florence (Mrs. Neil Johnston) of Kitchener; grandmother of Charles Jr., Charlotte, Tracey, Lisa, Chad and Amanda Kaplin. Predeceased by her parents and six sisters, Mae, Ruth, Myrtle, Dorothy, Violet and Lillian. Friends may call at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. W., Kitchener after Wednesday, 7 p.m. Funeral and committal service in the Ratz-Bechtel Chapel on Friday, 2 p.m. with Rev. Terry Maguire, CR, officiating. Interment Woodland cemetery.
