- SHULMAN, Monty H. - At Grand River Hospital, K-W Health Care Centre, on Thursday, May 28, 2009, peacefully, surrounded by his loving family. Monty Shulman, aged 88 years. Monty was a good and faithful member of Beth Jacob Synagogue and, prior to moving to Kitchener, had been very active with the B'nai Israel Congregation in Cambridge until 1974. Served proudly with the British Army in the Second World War. Loving father to Elliott of Toronto and Ben of Waterloo. Dear Zaidy to Asa, David and Michael. Brother to Myra and her husband Bert Shinwell of Toronto. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Solomon Shulman and Rena Franklin; his beloved wife, Lee, in November of last year; and one sister, Ethel. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, May 31, 2009 from Beth Jacob Synagogue at 12 noon with Rabbi Yosil Rosenzweig officiating. Donations may be made to the charity of your choice as expressions of sympathy through the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home , 519-745-9495. Shiva will be observed at the family residence, 175 Queen St. N., Apt. 1703, Kitchener, afternoon and evening.
