  STEINMAN, Neil C. - Neil Christian Steinman, 83, of Woodstock and formerly of the Cassel area passed away in Woodstock General Hospital on Saturday, July 11, 2009. He was born in East Zorra Township on June 20, 1926, a son of the late Moses and Katie (Zehr) Steinman. Neil was the proud owner of Neil Steinman Well Drilling of Cassel and a member of Cassel Mennonite Church. He was predeceased by his first wife, the former Esther Idella Cressman, on November 5, 1986 and his brother, Gordon Steinman, on November 8, 2006. He is the loving husband of Marnie Steinman; beloved stepfather of Pamela Peters of Woodstock, Andrew and Sharn Pitcher of Calgary, Jodilynn Pitcher of London; dear brother of Wilfred and wife Vivian Steinman of Woodstock, Floyd and wife Catherine Steinman of Tavistock; dear brother-in-law of Audrey Steinman of New Hamburg, Helen Brubacher, Maynard and Carol Cressman, Robert and Shirley Potts; cherished grandfather of Tara and Breanne Peters, Ariya and Andorra Pitcher; cherished uncle of Janice and John Beecraft, Ruth and Glen Zafe, Carl and Chris Steinman, Larry and Cindy Steinman, Ann and Dave Honderich, Lorna and Larry Roth. He will be sadly missed by his loyal pal "Boomer" (his dachshund dog). Relatives and friends will be received in the Francis Funeral Home , 77 Woodstock Street North, Tavistock on Tuesday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. where the funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at 2 p.m. The Rev. James Whitehead will officiate. Interment in East Zorra Mennonite Cemetery, 16th line. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Tavistock & District Historical Society, Woodstock General Hospital or Cassel Mennonite Church would be appreciated and may be made through the Francis Funeral Home by calling 1-519-655-2431.
