- DUBRICK, Nettie Velma Lucille (Barber) - Velma passed away, peacefully to her Lord, at the A.R. Goudie Eventide Home, Kitchener-Waterloo, on the 27th November, 2001, in her 90th year. Velma was born in Boston, Ontario, on November 5, 1911; daughter of the late Carroll and Loudell (Haviland) Barber, Velma was the beloved wife of the late Gordon J. Dubrick of Kitchener, who passed away in 1985. They were married September 2, 1931. She was a loving and devoted mother to daughter, Jane Dubrick and son, Gerald Dubrick, both of Waterloo and son, Rev. Marvyn Dubrick who died in 1977. She is survived by grandchildren, Joel and his wife Karen of London, Ontario and Elayne and her husband the Rev. Colin Cameron of St. Catharines, Ontario and great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Anna Cameron; as well as daughter-in-law, Helen Dubrick of Waterloo. She was predeceased by her brother, Donald Barber in 1995; her sister-in-law, Pauline remains in Kitchener. Velma was a long-time member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church and participated in the LCW and the Quilters Group. Velma was a founding and charter member of the Helena Feasby Women's Institute of Williamsburg. Visitation will be at Schreiter-Sandrock Funeral Home & Chapel, (742-4481), 51 Benton at Church St., Kitchener, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm on Thursday. As 12 noon Friday, transfer will be made to St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, 54 Benton St., Kitchener for the funeral service at 2 pm with Pastors David Malina, Harold Brill and Colin Cameron officiating. Interment St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery with a reception to follow at St. Matthew's Church Hall.
