Funeral at Hespeler, A Pioneer of Puslinch Gone to His Rest
The funeral took place Tuesday, October 11, 1905. His death occurred on Saturday night, October 8th, after a short illness, at the advanced age of 82 years, 9 months and 23 days. Rev. E. S. Moyer, assisted by Rev. C. W. Cook, conducted the burial services, at the conclusion of which, a memorial service was held in the Evangelical Church. The pallbearers were Samuel and Elias Panabaker, Elijah Eagle, Capel Reeve, A. McAllister and Ben Chester, all old friends. Mr. Cober was a native of York County but had lived in Puslinch for about half a century, removing to Hespeler about a year ago. He was widely known in this locality, one of the leading and most successful farmers of the vicinity and was held in high esteem by all who knew him. His wife and four children survive: Noah in Grey County; Mrs. John Goudie of Brown City, Michigan; Jeremiah of Hespeler; and Mary, at home.
