- McGRIGOR, Nora Seel (Alison) - It is with great sadness that the family announce Nora's passing on January 17, 2007. Nora was the loving wife of the late Murray McGrigor and was predeceased by her beloved daughter, Nora Petras. She is survived by her son-in-law, William Petras; her grandchildren, David and Joan Petras of Waterloo and Janet Petras and Sarah Hunter of White Rock, B.C. and three great-grandchildren, Sam and John Petras of Waterloo and Kate Petras Hunter of White Rock, B.C. Nora was devoted to her family and friends. She hosted countless family dinners, stayed in close touch with her large circle of friends and gave a helping hand wherever she could. Kind and gentle to the end, she always thought of others before herself. Her faith was strong. It was a tremendous comfort to her throughout her life especially during her last days. Nora dedicated herself to her community. She had served as President of the Central Church Presbyterian Women, President of the Y.W.C.A., Regent of the HLI-IODE, President of the Silver Star, President of the Cambridge Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, Director of Districts for the Ontario Women's Auxiliary Associations, Chairman of the Family Service Bureau, Chairman of the Board of Cambridge Memorial Hospital and a member of the Regional Health Council. She received the Queen's Silver Jubilee Medal, was Cambridge Citizen of the Year in 1976 and was presented with a medal by Lt. Gov. Lincoln Alexander at the Hospital's lOOth anniversary. She was inducted into the Cambridge Hall of Fame in 1997 and awarded a Mel Osborne Fellowship by the Cambridge Kiwanis Club. Friends will be received at Little's Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 223 Main St., E, Cambridge on Friday January 19, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at Central Presbyterian Church, Queen's Square, Cambridge on Saturday, January 20, 2007 at 11 a.m., with Rev. Aubrey Botha officiating. Interment Mount View Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Cambridge Memorial Hospital Foundation, 700 Coronation Blvd., Cambridge NIR 9X9 would be appreciated. www.tlittlefuneralhome.com
