- DEATH OF NORMA BEHRENS.
It becomes our sad duty to chronicle the death of Norma Belle, beloved daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm, Behrens, which sad event occurred on Wednesday, the tenth day of October, when she passed away at the early age of seventeen years, five months and twenty-six days.
Born in 1889, she passed from babyhood into girlhood, beloved by all for a pleasing personality, combined with a bright and lovable disposition which made her a favorite with old and young.
At school she endeared herself to both teacher and pupils, to the former by her diligence and perserverance, to the latter, by her ever-ready sympathy, her kindliness and unselfishness.
In the home she was dearly beloved, proving herself ever a dutiful and affectionate daughter, as well as a kind and sympathetic sister, adding not a little to the happiness of the home life, by her bright and happy spirit, her genial and sunny nature.
With a large share of this world's blessings, kind and devoted parents. a large circle of warm friends, and many other things conducive to happiness, her young life was a particularly happy one.
After graduating at the Elmira school, it was intended that she should continue her education at the Berlin Collegiate Institute. She was gifted with considerable musical ability, and her happy girlhood scorned full of promise for an equally happy young womanhood, but her bright career was rudely checked, when in the spring the was overtaken with an illness, which so fastened its hold upon her that the best medical skill and the most careful and patient nursing proved unavailing, and finally she as released from her sufferings, and gathered by the Great Gardener, a sweet and lovely bud, to bloom forever in Paradise.
The bereaved parents and family have the heartfelt sympathy of many friends in their sad affliction.
