- Obituary of Norma Lillian Weiler
Passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at Clair Hills Retirement residence. Norma was born 86 years ago in Philipsburg, a daughter of the late Elmer Doering and former Ella Seyler.
Norma will be dearly missed by her husband Armand (Mike) Weiler with whom she married on August 8, 1953. Cherished mother of Michael and Mary Ann Weiler of New Hamburg, Timothy Weiler and Sheila Lobrutto of St. Clements and Tamara and Robert Cranston of Brighton. Norma was a devoted grandmother and great-grandmother and will be missed by; Jonathan and Ana Weiler and their children Kaylee and Jacob; Daniel Weiler and friend Aimee, Lindsay and Matt Kelly and their children Hannah, Maxwell and August; Amanda and Jeff Tobias and daughter Isla; Richard and Rhonda Weiler and their children Dakota, Harper and River; Natalie Cranston, Donald Cranston and Nikolas Lobrutto. Survived by her sister Karolyn Heubner and sister-in-law Virginia Weiler as well as nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her mother and father-in-law Joe and Betty Weiler as well as by her brother and sister-in-law Walter and Ruth Doering, and brothers-in-law Rev. Norris Heubner and Roger Weiler.
Norma had a passion for music and played the organ at church for 47 years. Norma worked for more then 20 years at the Baden Cheese Factory. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed spending much of her time quilting, knitting, sewing and crocheting. Family meant the world to Norma and Mike. Many evenings were spent watching the Toronto Maple Leafs or the Toronto Blue Jays, playing cards and enjoying great meals or some quality baking except for Tuesday, which was BINGO night!
Family and friends will be received at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron Street, New Hamburg on Sunday, April 22, 2018 from 2 \endash 4 & 7 \endash 9 p.m. The funeral will take place on Monday at 2:00 p.m. at St. James Lutheran Church, Baden with Pastor Bonnie Shelter-Brown officiating. Interment in Fairmont Cemetery, Baden. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Amyloid Research or St. James Lutheran Church memorial fund, Baden.
