- MESSNER, Norma Theresa Peacefully with her daughter, Mary at her side, at Columbia Forest Long Term Centre, Waterloo (formerly of Winston Park, Kitchener) on Sunday, January 24, 2010 in her 86th year. Beloved wife of the late Joseph Messner (1969). Cherished mother of Michael (Mary) of Kitchener, Anne Steinman of Waterloo, Cathy (Greg) Twigge of Whitehorse, Yukon, Mary (Andreas) Christophersen of Kitchener and Cecilia (Doug) McManaman of Aurora. Beloved grandmother of Joe (Amy), Ted, Ahren (Drew), Andrea (Gord), Allan, Cecilia, Adam and Sarah. Great-grandmother of Sarah, Isabella and Alex. Dear sister of Marlene (Carl) Solomon and pre- deceased by siblings, Jack Brenner, Carl Brenner, Ollie Brenner, Paul Brenner, Alice Brenner and Mary Kropf. Norma was a long time employee of Catholic Family Counseling (now known as Mosaic). She was a faithful member of St. Aloysius RC Church, and a long time member of the C.W.L and the Rockway Seniors' Centre. Norma served with the Royal Canadian Air Force. Norma's family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, January 27, 2010 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Henry Walser Funeral Home , 507 Frederick St., Kitchener, 519-749-8467 519-749-8467. Parish prayers will be recited at the funeral home on Wednesday evening at 8:30 p.m. Prayers will be offered at the funeral home on Thursday, January 28, 2010 at 10:20 a.m., then transfer will be made to St. Aloysius RC Church, 11 Traynor Avenue, Kitchener for the Celebration of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Interment Woodland Cemetery.
