- COBER, Olivia - Passed away, on Sunday, May 11, 2008, at her residence, Nithview Home, New Hamburg. Olivia was born 96 years ago in Mannheim and was the daughter of the late Jacob and Jeanette (Geiger) Knechtel. Beloved wife of the late Irvine Cober who predeceased her October 6, 1983. Loving mother of Wilbert and Anna Mae Cober of RR 2, Petersburg, Edward and Kathleen Cober of Kitchener, Russell and Mae Cober of Baden, Donald and Ellen Cober of RR 1, Wellesley, Roger and Miriam Cober of Baden, Joyce DeGasparro of Sault Ste. Marie, Rev. James and Doris Cober of Kitchener, Bruce and Pauline Cober of Wellesley, Ardys and Richard Brenneman of New Hamburg, Catherine and James Winger of Fort Erie, Dorothy and Andrew Fraser of Tavistock and mother-in-law of Audrey Huber of RR 2, Petersburg. Sadly missed by 37 grandchildren, 61 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren. Also remembered by a brother, Joseph Knechtel of Breslau; half-brothers and half-sisters, Esther and Eric Burkhardt, Jake Knechtel, Ella Fleming and Ruth Glasgow all of Kitchener. Olivia was predeceased by a son, Peter C. Cober; a number of grandchildren and siblings. Olivia was a member of Rosebank Brethren in Christ Church, RR 2, Petersburg where she served 40 plus years as a deacon's wife. She entertained many ministers, evangelists and missionaries from around the world in her home and acted as a second mother to many others as well as her own twelve children. Family and friends may call at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home , 291 Huron St., New Hamburg on Tuesday, May 13, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Transfer will be made on Wednesday, May 14, 2008, to Rosebank Brethren in Christ Church for visitation from 9: 30 a.m. until the time of the service at 10: 30 a.m. Interment to follow in Rosebank Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Mennonite Central Committee or the Tim and Sandi Memorial Scholarship Fund at Niagara Christian Collegiate.
