  WATERLOO REGION RECORD, Kitchener, Ontario - Nov. 11, 2008 BAER, Orval Grant - (June 12, 1927 - November 1, 2008) from Surrey, B.C. It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our father, grandfather and brother, Orval Grant Baer. He is fondly remembered by his children, Rosalie (Herb), John (Karen) and Hilda; five grandchildren, Angela, Andre (Jaclyn), Alanna, Samantha and Robin; one great-granddaughter (Kallie); Rose Bear (mother of their children); three brothers, Morgan, Elmer and Wayne; one sister, Erma; as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. He is predeceased by brother, Curtis and brother-in-law, Roy Meadows. A celebration of his life was held Monday, November 10, 2008 at Willingdon Church, Burnaby, B.C. A memorial service is being planned in the Stratford area. Time and place to be announced. Full of smiles and energy, Dad (Grandpa) will always be remembered for his nurturing ways, teaching us the importance of family and for his patience, kindness and his servant heart. We love you forever and always. He is predeceased by his brother, Curtis. He is fondly remembered by his children; Rosalie (Herb), John (Karen), and Hilda; 5 grandchildren, Angela, Andre (Jaclyn), Alanna, Robin, and Samantha; 1 great-granddaughter Kallie; Rose Baer (mother of their children), sister: Erma; 3 brothers: Morgan, Elmer, and Wayne; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends. A public viewing will be held on Friday, November 7th from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Personal Alternative Funeral Services at 3070 275A St. in Aldergrove. A celebration of his life will be held on Monday, November 10 at Willingdon Church Burnaby. Interment at 1:00 pm at Surrey Centre Cemetery (16771 Old McLellan Rd). A Memorial Service will be held at Avon Mennonite Church, 90 Greenwood Dr., Stratford, Ontario on Sunday, November 30, 2008 at 2:30 p.m. Donations may be made to Prayer Canada or Mennonite Central Committee.
