  ALVES, Otelinda - Peacefully, at Lisaard House, on Wednesday, April 8, 2009, after a long and courageous 16-year ballet with breast cancer, with her loving daughters at her side. Loving wife of the late Antonio Alves (2002). Cherished mother of Liz and her husband Bob Santo, and Sandy and her husband Helio Serpa, all of Cambridge. Proud Vovo of Mya, Sophia and Ruben. Sister of the late Joao of France, Maria (Domingos) of France, Rosa (Joao) of Cambridge, the late Antonio (Otelinda) of France and Virginia (Antonio) of Cambridge. Sadly missed by her nieces and nephews, Maria and her children Miguel and Mathew of Cambridge, Tony of Cambridge Piedade (Rui) and their children Ryan and Lucinda of Toronto, and Rosa (Tibor) and their daughter Rachel of Cambridge. Otelinda will be forever remembered by her loving family in Portugal, France and Canada. Resting at Corbett Funeral Home, 95 Dundas Street, Cambridge where the family will receive friends on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at our Lady of Fatima RC Church, Elgin St. S., Cambridge on Monday, April 13, 2009 at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at New Hope Cemetery, Cambridge. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cambridge Memorial Hospital - Medical Day Care/Oncology or Lisaard House. The family wishes to express a very special thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff of Medical Day Care at Cambridge Memorial Hospital for their amazing care over the past 16 years.
