    • Patricia Kenkel

      Cambridge, Ontario

      April 4, 1935 - February 10, 2009

Passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at the age of 73. Loving wife for 53 years of the late Frank Kenkel (April 2008). Beloved mother of Lynn (Patrick) Eastcott of Cambridge, Bob (the late Charlotte) of Kitchener, Sue (Mike) Riddell of Cambridge, Bill (Lori) of Waterloo, Kathy (Carl) Taylor of Cambridge, Dan and his fiancée Cheryl of Cambridge, and Brian of Cambridge. "Grandma the Great" will be deeply missed by her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and also by her cat Mitch. Also remembered by Sharon, Sheila and Donna. Dear sister of Fr. Daniel Hinsperger of St. Luke's Parish, Hamilton, predeceased by her sister Marilyn Mann, and her infant brother Donald Hinsperger.

Lifelong resident of Hespeler, Pat expressed her creative side through her many award winning needlepoints, crafts and folk art. Grandma would spend many hours baking treats for her loving family who were eager to indulge. Many summers were spent camping at Six Mile Lake, and later at Wildwood by the Severn, where Pat and Frank enjoyed their summer home with many friends and family. When not tending her garden there she could be found volunteering at the many park activities.

Pat's family will welcome friends at the Lounsbury Funeral Home, 1766 Franklin Boulevard, Cambridge on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9pm with Vigil Prayers being held at 8:30pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday morning at 11am at St. Mary's Church, 16 Cooper Street, Cambridge with her brother Father Dan Hinsperger and the Church Pastor Father Frank Freitas officiating. Cremation will follow with interment at New Hope Cemetery. Those who wish may make a memorial donation to the Cambridge and District Humane Society.
Special thanks to all the Home Care providers for their loving and compassionate care.
