- GERTH, Phyllis\emdash Peacefully, at Pioneer Care Centre (Freeport) on Tuesday, Nov. 30, 1999, Phyllis Gerth (nee Hagen), of Waterloo, age 78 years.
Phyllis was a member of Historic St. Paul's Lutheran Church and the Happy Gang of the church.
Loving mother of Terry and his wife Patti of Cambridge. Sadly missed by three grandchildren, Julie Ward, Shawn and Kyle Gerth; dear sister of Audrey Hagen, Edna Smeltzer and her husband Jack, Marjorie Dunkel and her husband Gerald, Wilbur Hagen and his wife Joanne; Nancy House and her husband Bill. Also remembered by many nieces, nephews and their families.
She was predeceased by her parents, John Hagen and the former Matilda Underwood; her husband, John A. Gerth; a daughter, Beverly Ward; two sisters, Thelma Inglis and Elberta Schaus; six brothers, Carl, Harvey, Billy, Walter, Tommy and Bobby Hagen.
Friends and relatives may call at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. W., Kitchener, this evening (Wednesday) from 7-9 p.m. and Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Historic St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Queen Street Kitchener, on Friday at 1:30 p.m., with Rev. Allan Scharlach officiating. Interment Parkview Cemetery. Reception to follow at the church.
Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or Historic St. Paul's Lutheran Church as expressions of sympathy would be gratefully acknowledged.
