      MILVERTON - Ranald Toman, 53, of Milverton, died last night at the restaurant which he operated. Born July 30, 1906, at New Dundee, he was a son of the late Mr. and 1 Mrs. Amos Toman. He came to Milverton in 1939 as manager of Milverton Creamery and remained in that post until four years ago.

      He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, a member of Milverton Masonic Lodge and a past president of Milverton Lions Club. He also served for a number of years on the Milverton Public School board, and the arena committee. He had been a former leader of the Milverton band and until his death was a member of the New Dundee Little German band.

      Surviving are his wife, the former Mrs. Vera Mohr, whom he married in 1949; four sons, Earl of Sarnia, Weston of Ajax, Robert of Galt, James at home; two stepsons, Michael and Charles Mohr, both at home; two daughters, Mrs. Ross (Elaine) Kipfer of Milverton, Mrs. Jack (Marlene) Hube of Frankfort, Ont.; a stepdaughter, Miss Yvonne Mohr of London, Ont.; a brother, Clayton Toman of New Dundee and four sisters, Mrs. Edward (Effie) Welsh of Saskatchewan, Mrs. Cora Wilson of Alberta, Mrs. Fred (Ruby) Baker of California and Mrs. Roxie Hostetler of New Hamburg. Seven grandchildren also survive.

      The body will be at the family home until noon Saturday when removal will be made to St. Peter's Lutheran Church for the funeral at 2 p.m. Rev. Luther Eberhardt will officiate and burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Milverton.
