    • THIBODEAU, Raymond Walter - Peacefully, surrounded by his loving family at K-W Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, Raymond lost his valiant struggle with cancer on Saturday, August 26, 2006 at the age of 83. Beloved husband of Dora May for 57 years. Cherished father of Mary (Randy) Dopp, Susan (Russell) Longman, Janet (Bill) Glaister, Steven (Jennifer), Mark (Jacinthe), James (Suzie), Andrew (Mabel), John (Dale). Loving grandfather of 16 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Survived by his brother, Maurice. Predeceased by his grandaughter, Stephanie May; eight brothers and one sister. Raymond was a Second World War combat veteran, involved in the D Day Campaign and the liberation of Holland. He continued to serve his country until 1962 which included a UN Mission to Indo China for 13 months, Ray was a co-founder of T & J Seafoods Ltd of Kitchener. He was also a proud member of St. Aloysius RC Church. Relatives and friends will be received at Schreiter-Sandrock Funeral Home and Chapel, (519-742-4481) 51 Benton at Church St., Kitchener this evening (Monday) from 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where parish prayers will be recited at 8: 45 p.m. Morning prayers will be offered from the funeral home at 9: 15 a.m. on Wednesday, August 30, 2006 followed by a procession to St. Aloysius RC Church (Traynor Ave.) for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. with Father Con O'Mahony PP as celebrant. Interment Memory Gardens, Breslau. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made in Raymond's memory to the Grand River Cancer Centre.
