- Fatal Fire at Haysville
We regret to learn that on Wednesday morning last a fatal fire took place in the village of Haysville, Township of Wilmot. It appears from the meagre reports at hand that about two o'clock that morning the house occupied by William Ellenbaum and his wife was discovered to be on fire, and by the time the villagers were around the structure was one mass of flames. Neither the occupant nor his wife were seen during the progress of the fire, but after it had burnt itself out their remains were found in the ruins. The fire is supposed to have originated from a defective flue. An inquest will be held on the remains by Dr. Bowlby, of Berlin, who has been notified.
